The mind is very complex, but also very simple. The better we understand the rules that the mind follows, the better we can use our mind.
(We can control it, instead of it controlling us.)
Excuse our mess while we put the finishing touches on this page
Even before I became trained as a hypnotherapist I noticed patterns in human behavior. I could see that many people made their life harder for themselves based on their mindset. I could see that many people who had certain characteristics or personalities would think or act similarly which seemed to be a big part of why one group would succeed and the other group was struggling or hurting.
I know one tendency of human nature is to try and avoid pain. Ironically, often it is avoiding some discomfort that actually causes much of our pain. Like the person who has a toothache and won't go to the dentist because he is afraid of the pain the dentist might cause. However, he can't enjoy the food he loves because it hurts to eat and has a constant ache in his mouth that is affecting his sleep, his speech, and his overall quality of life.
I think most of his friends and family can clearly see he may be avoiding one kind of pain but he is not avoiding pain all together. Logically it makes more sense to go to the dentist and while it may be temporarily uncomfortable, the pain will be over quickly and he would be able to enjoy life again. Unfortunately emotion always defeats logic and we base most of our decisions on emotion. This guy will suffer with varying degrees of pain for a long time and then by the time it finally gets so bad that he has to go to the dentist, the problem will be much worse and will be more painful, difficult, and expensive to fix.
I think everyone will benefit from Rapid Transformational Therapy and this information. Unfortunately the people who need it the most are like our friend who won't go to the dentist and get the help they need for many reasons.
Over 80% of what we think each day is incorrect - don't believe everything you think.
Over 80% of what most people think is the same each day - better make sure your thoughts are helpful.
Most people's thoughts (especially about themselves) are negative.
Our form of hypnosis is one of the best ways to improve your thinking and your life, but even if you decide not to work with us there are many things you can do to change your thinking and thus change your life.
These are some of the principles that Rapid Transformational Therapy and most therapies are based on. Even if you don't work with me, understanding these principles can help you improve your life.
WHAT THIS MEANS
Your brain isn’t fixed—it’s constantly rewiring itself based on what you think, do, and experience.
Every time you learn something, think something, feel something, or do something your brain changes a little. Cells are constantly changing, firing, connecting.
Every time you practice something (a skill, a behavior, a way of thinking), your brain physically changes to make that thing easier next time. This affects actions, thoughts, decisions, and life because it means the more you repeat something—good or bad—the more automatic it becomes.
Things that are not used become weaker and slower.
HOW THIS CAN WORK NEGATIVELY
Getting stuck in negative thought loops - If someone repeatedly thinks, “I’m not good enough,” the brain strengthens that thought pattern.
Reinforcing unhealthy habits - Constantly procrastinating teaches the brain that avoiding things is the normal response.
Deepening anxiety responses - If someone repeatedly avoids situations that feel scary, the brain learns to be more afraid of them.
What you don't use, you lose. - If you don't use math, play your instrument, or speak a language you will start to forget it.
HOW THIS CAN WORK POSITIVELY
Building confidence - Practicing positive self-talk changes the brain to believe those things naturally.
Developing useful habits - Studying regularly strengthens focus and discipline pathways.
Changing emotional reactions - Practicing calm breathing during stress trains the brain to handle challenges without panic.
HOW THIS CAN BE USED
This information is used all the time in sports and school to help people learn new information and skills.
This is used all the time in physical therapy with kids with developmental delays and recovery after stroke or injury.
Hypnosis is a great way to help reinforce the things that we want and decrease the things that we don't want.
WHAT THIS MEANS
Repeating something tells your brain, "This is important - remember it." Repetition is more than that though. The brain cells communicate with each other to perform certain tasks. The more that the same cells communicate with each other, the faster that communication becomes.
Usually each action requires a series of cells communicating with each other which is often called a pathway. The more the signal travels this same pathway, the faster and more efficient that pathway becomes. Whether it's a skill, a habit, a thought, or a behavior, repetition creates strong mental pathways. That's why practice makes things easier and automatic - both good and bad things.
HOW THIS CAN WORK NEGATIVELY
Repeating self-criticism - Saying "I'm a failure" over and over makes it easier to think this way and in some ways makes it feel true.
Repeated arguments or avoidance in relationships - If a family always argues instead of talking calmly, that becomes the default communication style.
Reinforcing bad habits - Repeatedly scrolling on your phone at night teaches your brain to crave it even when tired.
HOW THIS CAN WORK POSITIVELY
Skill building - Practicing a sport, instrument, or school subject improves performance.
Strengthening positive beliefs - Daily gratitude, positive affirmations, positive thinking strengthens positive thinking.
HOW THIS CAN BE USED
Practicing sports, music, or anything makes you faster, more efficient, and more automatic.
Hypnosis is a great way to create and strengthen good pathways.
WHAT THIS MEANS
The brain tries to be efficient. "Use it or lose it" means that your brain keeps the skills, behaviors, and ways of thinking that you use or repeat - and lets go of the ones you don't use.
The brain is constantly rewiring itself. When you practice something repeatedly (a sport, a habit, a way of thinking, a skill), the brain strengthens that pathway. When you stop using it, the brain naturally weakens that pathway to save energy.
This applies to:
Actions: skills like studying, playing an instrument, speaking a language, social skills all get stronger the more you use them and weaker the less you use them.
Thoughts: If you regularly think confident thoughts, your brain gets better at confidence. If you often think anxious or negative thoughts, those pathways get stronger. (If you are thinking negative thoughts, those are getting stronger but you are also not thinking as many positive thoughts which also means the positive pathways are getting weaker.)
Decisions: What you choose repeatedly becomes your default decisions. (This includes your reactions to things. They become almost automatic.)
Life: Your habits shape your identity. What you invest time in becomes part of who you are; what you ignore starts to fade.
In short, your brain is always learning - the question is whether it's learning what helps you or what hurts you.
HOW THIS CAN WORK NEGATIVELY
Losing Confidence - If a teen avoids speaking up in class, doesn't practice expressing themselves, or constantly thinks "I can't do it," the brain weakens the confidence pathways. Over time, speaking up feels scarier, harder, and less natural.
Decline in skills - If someone stops practicing a sport, instrument, language, or other skill, their ability naturally fades. A once-strong student may suddenly feel "bad at math" simply because they stopped using the skill.
Strengthening anxiety - If a teen repeatedly avoids situations that make them nervous (social events, trying new things, presentations), the brain becomes stronger at avoidance and weaker in confidence. Anxiety grows because the brain "learns" that avoiding is the safest option - even when this isn't true.
HOW THIS CAN WORK POSITIVELY
Building positive character traits - the more you act confidently and speak up, the easier this becomes. The more you speak or act gratefully, the more grateful you become.
Mastering skills - the more you practice skills, the faster and easier and more precisely you can perform those skills. More things are actually skills than you realize. Playing sports, playing instruments are skills. However, positive thinking, sleeping, parenting, being a good spouse, and so many more are also skills. Procrastinating, being anxious, are also skills.
HOW THIS CAN BE USED
If you have something you want to do better, learn better ways to do it and repeat (practice) as often as you can. Every time you practice or do something it gets better and more permanent.
If there is something you don't want to lose, use it. We are creatures of habit and tend to think and move the same way. This is good in that those things will become more habitual but there are many muscles and movement patterns that are slowly getting weaker so don't forget to move them in different ways.
If there is something you don't want anymore, quit using it and it will get weaker.

Out of the 40-90,000 thoughts we have each day at least 60-80% are negative. Many of these are also repetitive. Most of us would not speak to our worst enemy as meanly as we do regularly to ourselves.
Our job is to give our mind a better blueprint or suggestions. Become your own best friend, coach, and cheerleader.
You might as well tell it good and helpful things. Even if they are not true - yet.
This is called neuroplasticity. Four main principles of neuroplasticity that are related to any kind of therapy.
The more something is used, the stronger and faster it becomes.
(Practice and repetition make things better)
The less something is used, the weaker and slower it becomes.
(Use it or lose it)
What fires together wires together.
(Smells / music can help you remember things.)
(Fear can link to back pain and back pain to fear so when you have fear your back will hurt or when your back hurts you will have some fear.)
The body likes efficiency and patterns.
(Habits - good or bad. )
(Movement patterns - good or bad)
